For accelerated shelf life determination of dairy products. The Pre-incubation test uses a selective mixture to inhibit Gram-positive organisms whilst allowing the growth of Gram-negative bacteria, the main cause of post-pasteurisation contamination and a major factor in the determining shelf life of the product. The technique is also useful for monitoring plant hygiene.
